Emergency medical services includes evaluation and treatment of acute injury and illness in all age groups, planning and prevention, monitoring, and team oversight. Emergency medical services involves prehospital emergency patient care, including initial patient stabilization, treatment, and transport to hospitals in specially equipped ambulances or helicopters.
