Training includes significant practice in trauma and critical care, vascular surgery and plastic surgery, surgical oncology and cardiothoracic surgery. Residents have additional training in robotic surgery, resulting in full credentialing by the end of the chief year. Trainees also gain significant experience in state of the art angiographic and interventional labs. The average experience for chief residents completing the program is approximately 1,100 cases in five years.
