The department of surgery has a well-organized teaching schedule. This includes conferences and rounds given by the chair and the faculty. There are approximately 10 hours of weekly formal surgical grand rounds, morbidity and mortality conferences, journal club, quality and outcome seminars, subspecialty seminars and service rounds.
