Upon approval, the Program provides one trip of the residents choosing in PGY3 year and travel for presentation of abstracts. The area has a reasonable cost of living: most residents able to buy homes. Metro area commute times to work <10 minutes. Exposure to private practice, busy colorectal surgery practice, VA Medical Center, rural community hospital, extensive exposure to complex hepatopancreatobiliary disease, liver and kidney transplant. Broad range of operative opportunities and autonomy.
