IUSM General Surgery is a national leader in competency-based education. Additionally, we host quarterly M&M conferences where unconscious biases and disparities in diverse patient populations are discussed in order to better advocate for patients. Residents have multiple research opportunities available to them, including optional 2 year dedicated professional development years. Multiple master degrees are available for partial or full reimbursement by the department.
