Fellows develop expertise in managing substance use disorders using a biopsychosocial approach, including patients experiencing comorbid psychiatric disorders as well as medically-complex patients. They work in a variety of settings, including inpatient detoxification, consultations, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and longitudinal outpatient clinics. Fellows become proficient in the use of medication-assisted treatment in the treatment of substance use disorders.
