Stony Brook University general surgery residency is an academic university-based training program aiming to train a diverse workforce to the goals of becoming outstanding, competent, autonomous physicians and surgeons. The program leverages both the strengths of our university hospital as well as our affiliate institutions to provide our trainees with a wide breadth of experience providing the foundation to achieve success and fulfillment in a surgical career unique to each trainee.
