Special Features

The University of Texas Medical Branch Radiation Oncology Residency Program provides comprehensive training in a collaborative, resident-centered environment. Residents care for a diverse patient population across a broad range of disease sites while gaining progressive clinical responsibility. Training includes robust brachytherapy experience, a one-year rotation at Houston Methodist, a pediatric radiation oncology rotation at MD Anderson Cancer Center, nuclear medicine experience at Excel Diagnostics, and exposure to the unique oncology needs of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) population. Individualized faculty mentorship and research opportunities prepare graduates for successful careers in academic and community practice
