Special Features
A defining strength of our Interventional Radiology residency program is the breadth and complexity of clinical exposure at a major tertiary referral center. Residents are integral members of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT), where IR is the only procedural specialty providing catheter-based therapies for acute pulmonary embolism. Trainees gain experience across the full spectrum of IR procedures while supporting a Level I adult and pediatric trauma center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and kidney, pancreas, and heart transplant programs. They also participate in multidisciplinary cancer care at New Jersey's only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, preparing them to practice the full scope of modern IR.
